Atlantic Surf Route

Have you dreamed of a surf trip in which everything is rolled? We propose you an impressive surf trip on board one of our vans.

FORGET ABOUT USUAL SURF TRIPS …

Nothing to look for accommodation, if the forecasts will not fit you in such or such a place, if your reduced quiver will not be appropriate, etc …
From Atlanticsurfroute we propose to make the best surf trip possible. Obviously not all the spots have facilities to make life on a van, so we advise the most appropriate for this type of surf trip where you can be on the best beach and with the best conditions every day. Be the first on the water, sleep in amazing places, meet different people every day and ultimately live an experience you will not forget easily.

This time we propose some of the most spectacular coasts of Spain. The Cantabrian.

The northern peninsular coast has some of the most spectacular beaches of our country, and on board our van we will travel along the Cantabrian motorway always with the sea on one side, stopping at every beach we want and enjoying not only the great Waves that we will catch but of each beach, forest and cliff.

We are going to talk about the best spots, but obviously there are many more that you will discover along the trip.

Zarautz (Gipuzkoa)

It offers 2.5 km of beach, the longest in the Basque Country, with waves up to three meters high. This extensive sand is divided in three zones: the western end, frequented by families and bathers; The center, reserved for surfers; And the eastern part, dominated by the dunes.

MUNDAKA (VIZCAYA)

The left of Mundaka is the best left of all Europe and one of the best in the world. It is located in the town of Mundaka, with the mythical church in the background that we recognize in all the photos and is a spot almost forced on our tour around the Bay of Biscay. Although it is usually quite crowded and if the waves are of a certain size it is better not to enter the water if you do not have a certain level.

PLAYA DE CANALLAVE Y PLAYA DE VALDEARENAS
(LIENCRES, CANTABRIA)

It is located in the Natural Park of the Dunes of Liencres, there we find these two beaches that have waves of both right and left for all levels. It is frequent that the surf is strong reason why they are good spots for the practice of the surf. The tides are very sharp. It stands out for its landscape of meadow oceanic and enjoys beautiful views and spectacular sunsets.

 RODILES BEACH
(VILLAVICIOSA, ASTURIAS)

Rodiles is another dream for any lover of this sport. It is considered as one of the best lefts in Europe. It is very tubera and long and with the proper wind is almost perfect.
In addition, it is located in an impressive natural reserve, at the mouth of the Villaviciosa estuary.
It offers different possibilities: at low tide, at the west end of the sand and, at high tide, at the east end.

PLAYA DE DONIÑOS
(FERROL, GALICIA)

Foto: www.turismo.gal

It is one of the best beaches to surf in Galicia, with hollow, powerful waves and tuberas. It has 2 km of length divided in 3 areas where you will have to move depending on the different conditions with the different tides: Doniños for low tide, Doniños Rio for half tide and Doñinos Outeiro for high tide. It is a wonderful wave, not in vain, has hosted the Championship of Spain.

On these beaches we have been some of us and many of our friends van and we have never had a serious problem. But that yes, always respecting both inside and outside the water. Being aware of the level of each and where to place. Our advice and request is to be discreet, clean, speak to the locals and respect the rules ALWAYS.

If you are learning, you want to perfect the technique or you are simply new to surfing, you have a multitude of schools for all levels along the course where you will also rent the necessary equipment (suit, table, etc.) For 2 people of 2 hours, from about 59 euros).

We recommend some of them: Cántabra Surf School (Somo), Pukas Surf Eskola (Zarautz), Mundaka Surf School (Mundaka), Oyambre Surf (Oyambre), Rodiles Surf School (Rodiles) and Surf School Las Dunas (Salinas).

If you have a certain level or you have already caught the basics of the technique, you can also rent the material on the same beach. Rental prices may vary, but approximately:
1 day: table (30 euros),
1 day: neoprene suit (10 euros),
1 day: bodyboard and fins (20 euros).

On board our vans you can live that magic experience of disconnecting from the daily routine and enter an adventure you will NOT forget.

WE EXPECT THAT THE MOTIVES FOR YOUR NEXT SURF TRIP !!!
